Moville from Space

Moville is in the lower centre of the photo. Further up the
coast, and opposite Magilligan Point (County Derry), is Greencastle.
The small "horn" at the top right is Inishowen Head.
The townlands of Carrowhugh, Carrowtrasna and Stroove lie
between Greencastle and Inishowen Head. The distance between
Moville and Inishowen Head is about 10 kilometres (6 miles).
The two channels through Lough Foyle can be seen clearly,
as can the treacherous Tunn Banks, which lie in the Atlantic,
just outside the mouth of the Foyle.
At the top centre of the photo is Kinnagoe Bay, and running
into it at the left is the Long Glen River. The river running
into the centre of the bay is the Glennagiveny River. The
townlands of Meenletterbale, Mossyglen and Glennagiveny are
situated here.
The photo was taken in 2000, before the Greencastle - Magilligan
ferry started to operate.
