Bernadette Doherty was my aunt.

She was born in Argyle Street, Derry in 1914, the daughter of Tom and Mary Anne Doherty. Bernadette had five sisters, Adrienne, Gwen, Angela, Mary Josephine and Gabrielle.

Bernadette was disabled, and could walk only with difficulty. She remained a spinster, and died in Altnagelvin Hospital, Derry in 1984.
