Gwendoline Doherty was my aunt.

She was born in Buncrana, Co. Donegal in 1912, the daughter of Tom and Mary Anne Doherty. She was raised in Derry and had five sisters, Adrienne, Bernadette, Angela, Mary Josephine and Gabrielle.

Gwen became a Nurse (SRN), and emigrated to Acocks Green, Birmingham, UK. After retiring from nursing, she worked for Lucas, also in Birmingham.

She remained a spinster, and died on 07 October 1972.
