Michael was my grandfather's brother. He was the son of Thomas and Frances Doherty, who lived at 5 Hawthorn Terrace, Derry.

Michael was born in Derry about 1875, He was a shirt and collar cutter in a local factory, and lived near his parents at 2 Hawthorn Terrace.

He married and had three children, Annie (born about 1901), Bridget (born about 1902) and Joseph (born about 1908). His wife died before 1911.

Mickey had three brothers, Thomas John and William and three sisters, Mary Anne, Ellen and Josephine, and two unknown siblings.
