William was my grandfather's brother.

He was the son of Thomas and Frances Doherty, who lived at 5 Hawthorn Terrace, Derry.

William was born in Donegal about 1870, and was employed as a Coachman. He married and had at least one child, but after the death of his wife (between 1901 and 1911), he moved back with his parents.

He had three brothers, Thomas, John and Michael and three sisters, Mary Anne, Ellen and Josephine, together with a further unknown sibling.

He is known to have married, and had at least one son.
